Beware of the Snake(s)

Hello

I was intrigued to hear about the escape of a 9’ long snake in Cambridgeshire.

‘An RSPCA spokeswoman said that anyone who unexpectedly encounters a non-native snake should “keep a safe distance [and] monitor the snake” before calling their helpline.’

As we career towards an unedifying Brexit denouement – whatever your politics, it is startling to see how many of the ‘servants of the people’ have been exposed, in the stark light of the fiasco, as being quite blatantly out for power, prestige, and glory, for self rather than for country. (Peacock by day, snake during twilight. (Nighttime is anyone’s guess!) These are not particularly helpful manifestations during such complicated times.)

It’s very much a case of caveat emptor at this point – be careful who you vote for!

There are many snakes in the grass, but they are often very well camouflaged. Look back at the traces they have left, their track record. That will give you a clue about how they might behave in the future.

It is imperative that no one gets seduced by the ideology of any political party, for at this time, it is much more about the individual.

N.B. The RSPCA is the Royal Society for the protection of Politicians’ Career Aspirations. And remember, their advice is to ‘monitor the snake’. Thank goodness there are no lizards involved, or this could get very confusing…wait!

It’s a topsy-turvy world at the moment – but there are decent politicians out there, however you must observe them very carefully, and not allow yourself to be whipped up into an emotional frenzy!

Remain calm, focus on character and track record.

Good luck to us all!

Best wishes

Mike
